John had asked me to shoot a photo of him for an Aesthetics ad. We took this picture and I had pictured it quite differently in my head. When I got the film back I was actually kind of bummed. The TM called me and I was describing it to him. "Well you can't really see his arms and his hands a kinda disembodied but it looks like he's coming out of this huge mouth or something." I remember him saying, "It sounds sick!" So I reluctantly sent it in. It ran as the ad and I realized it was actually a good picture as well. Probably better than if it had come out the way I'd imagined, which was a lot brighter.
